We have become so accustomed to hearing preachers or expositors, as important as that is, that many in the process have abandoned the grand privilege of personally hearing from God’s Word daily. - Ravi Zacharrias

Day 24- Genesis 46; Job 24-27; Psalm 15

Basically, this is more genealogy and placement, but Henry points out,
Note, Those who desire to keep up communion with God shall find that it never fails on his side. If we speak to him as we ought, he will not fail to speak to us. God called him by name, by his old name, Jacob, Jacob, to remind him of his low estate; his present fears did scarcely become an Israel. Jacob, like one well acquainted with the visions of the Almighty, and ready to obey them, answers, "Here I am, ready to receive orders:’’
I have to say that Job is winding back up and here, in summary, is what he is saying,
I think the modern way of saying this is Bildad got dissed.  Henry says it more formally and with purpose,
Bildad here makes a very short reply to Job’s last discourse, as one that began to be tired of the cause. He drops the main question concerning the prosperity of wicked men, as being unable to answer the proofs Job had produced in the foregoing chapter: but, because he thought Job had made too bold with the divine majesty in his appeals to the divine tribunal (ch. 23), he in a few words shows the infinite distance there is between God and man.
I don't need Henry to tell me that Job says, sure, you are right, but its because of my loyalty to God that I said what I did.  He does add, though,
Thus are we often disappointed in our expectations from our friends who should comfort us, but the Comforter, who is the Holy Ghost, never mistakes in his operations nor misses of his end.
And, let it be said that finally his friends gave in and said, fine, we are tired and out of breath and you are right.  Now, we believe Job to be right, but have you found yourself in this situation.  I sometimes do and retreat to find greater authority to support my position later.  Job, had the right authority and all that he needed.  He did not need to go find the verse in the Bible, he was dictating it as he spoke.  Eeeks!  I wouldn't want to debate with him either.

Ever heard do as I say, not as I do?  That was not from Jesus and David herein recounts that by summary saying,
if we would be happy, we must be holy and honest. Christ, who is himself the way, and in whom we must walk as our way, has also shown us the same way that is here prescribed,
I think that we are all on the right path to trying to do that, at least one small step of it.  See you tomorrow.
