We have become so accustomed to hearing preachers or expositors, as important as that is, that many in the process have abandoned the grand privilege of personally hearing from God’s Word daily. - Ravi Zacharrias

Day 15- Genesis 35-36; Job 1

Genesis 35:  Matthew Henry indicates that while this appears as three communions and three funerals, there is more we should get from this.  1) Masters of the household are responsible for the religion in their households (give me your foreign gods). 2) He indicates that sometimes, while we are waiting for the "right" time to do something, if we would act earlier, we might be surprised how open to our direction other people are.
Note, 1. Old servants in a family, that have in their time been faithful and useful, ought to be respected. Honour was done to this nurse, at her death, by Jacob’s family, though she was not related to them, and though she was aged. Former services, in such a case, must be remembered. 2. We do not know where death may meet us; perhaps at Beth-el, the house of God. Therefore let us be always ready. 3. Family-afflictions may come even when family-reformation and religion are on foot. Therefore rejoice with trembling
Genesis 36: Basically, this is such an important timeline because Esau was the son of  Isaac, and to show that God kept his promise to Abraham.

Job 1: Job sincerely feared God and while he was not perfect he tried to be as much so as he could.  Even in his dire mourning, he praised God and saw that God had delivered. He took pleasure and wanted his children to live happy and prosper, just as God wants the same for his children.

I am interested in learning more about this Job.  Could be a good lesson for us all in here.
