We have become so accustomed to hearing preachers or expositors, as important as that is, that many in the process have abandoned the grand privilege of personally hearing from God’s Word daily. - Ravi Zacharrias

Day 67- Leviticus 11; John 7; Psalm 87

I'm taking a break from Matthew Henry today.  I am just observing and commenting.  Leviticus 11 is another list, but one that we hold true today to some extent and one that is not held true.  How do you think that we came to eat pork and shell fish so easily, but such acceptable edibles as crickets and grasshoppers are still foreign to us and exotic?  I have wondered and continue to wonder, where the Bible will tell us, some of these rules you hold true today and others -- not so much.

John 7 - can't you see yourself in this situation?  Now, it may be the water cooler, the coffee pot, the copier, IM, TM, Face book, but its gossip, nonetheless.  Gossip about Jesus.  Its rare that you would find one gossipping about Jesus today -- right?

That's it for today.  This week and especially today have been off kilter and reading does seem to bring some balance back, but I cannot focus on further study.  Its just an off week.
